Andy Dorman

Last updated : 15 November 2012 By Stuart Gillespie
Name: Andy Dorman

Current Club: New England Revolution

Position: Midfield

Saints Career: Andy arrived from New England Revolution in 2008 and quickly became a fans favourite. He was a complete change to the other midfielders we had as he was willing to get forward and his late runs into the box were a joy to watch, often resulting in goals. He seemed to go a few months without a decent performance then hit a hit patch where he was unplayable and scored a fair number of goals. December 2008 was one example of that, as was March/April 2009 and 2010. His highlight came when he scored twice in a fantastic 4-0 win over Celtic. He also became the club's first international in over a decade when he was capped for Wales.

Post Saints Career: Andy was linked with moves away almost as soon as he arrived at the club and in 2010 he left on a Bosman, signing for Crystal Palace. However, after getting a run of games at the start of the season he was dropped following the appointment of Dougie Freedman. The new season didn't bring a change of fortune and he was loaned to Bristol Rovers at the end of 2011 - unaware they were a League Two side! After playing regularly for them he returned to Crystal Palace, but was let go on transfer deadline day in 2012. He was without a club for a few months before re-joining New England Revolution at the end of the year.
