Name: Marc McAusland

Date of birth: 13/11/1989

Position: Defender

Former clubs: Stranraer, Queen of the South

Contracted to: Summer 2015

Mark came through the youth system before joining the first team squad in 2006 and was sent for a loan spell at Stranraer the same year. He made his first team debut against Gretna in 2008 and made a few appearances the following season. He should probably have made more as John Potter seemed undroppable despite being atrocious, so Cheesy joined Queen of the South in 2009. He spent just one year there before Danny Lennon brought him back to Saints. Scored his first senior goal against Aberdeen and made over 20 first team appearances, sometimes appearing at rightback where he looked very uncomfortable. A big defender, he still looks rather raw and there are unfair suggestions he is only back because his dad Bryan is a board member. Darren McGregor's injury saw him given his chance and he is a touch inconsistent, capable of great games or moments before making a bad error or having a rather poor game. Playing alongside Jim Goodwin at the back seemed to help him and he was part of the League Cup final success, also bagging a rare double against Hibs later in the season.
