Shuggy Set For Mansfield

Last updated : 01 July 2002 By Stuart Gillespie
Shuggy was set the deadline of last Thursday to agree terms with the club, and declined them. The reason he gave to the PDE was that the offer was too low for him and he wasn't prepared to go to a wage level equivalent to that of non first team players. This is totally incorrect, as I'll reveal (hopefully) on Wednesday or Thursday. Mansfield play in the English Second Division so it should prove an interesting challenge for Shuggy.

Jose Quitongo is also set to seal a move to the Spanish Second Division today (thats the league below La Liga) with CD Badajoz. BElow is a picture of their stadium which I "borrowed" from www.worldstadiums.com however as I'm linking to them I don't think they'll mind! It looks extremely impressive.

The third former Buddie set for a move is Stuart Taylor, who left in the sumer of 1998. After losing a lot of money at Airdrie, being on half wages, he is going to snub Falkirk and Ayr United and head for Irish First Division champions. I can't spell their name, but they are sponsored by 02 if thats any help!

Mirren Mad wishes all former Buds well at their new clubs, since hey aren't going to come back and haunt us for a wee while!
