Saints Trial French Internationals!

The two men in question are Ferdinand Toye and Jean-Eric Evina who are currently playing for Red Star Paris, in France funnily enough. Don't ask me anything about the team, never heard of them and Google produced nothing. You may be wondering who these blokes are as I said they are French internationals.

That is sort of correct. They are indeed French, however are trying to get into the national teams of Cameroon and Togo, because of their ancestory (like the way Matt Elliot is Scottish). Toye has played for Togo Under 21's and was injured so missed out on the African Nations Cup, while Evina is hoping to make the Cameroon squad. he could even make the World Cup this summer, though this is unlikely.

Most of this info has been nicked off the PDE, thats why its familiar :) Evina is friends with Hib's Freddie Arpinion and both are hpping to play for us next season, then move to the SPL (hopefully with Saints!).

One piece of news not on the PDE site is that the two were apparently on trial with Falkirk a few weeks ago and rejected them. Here's hoping they made a mistake and we sign potential superstars. If we did sign them, and they played for their country, they would be the first international Saints have had since the early 1990's and the days of Roy Aitken and Gunni Torfasson.
