New bid for McPake

If the red card stands - and it probably will - Marc McAusland and John Potter will be the only fit defenders for Saturday's game. Not a disaster, but far from ideal. As a result, signing a new defender is a matter of urgency.

Saints tried to sign McPake earlier in the summer, but of an offer of around £50,000 was rejected. However, it looks like an increased offer - possibly as much as £125,000 - is set to be tabled in the next few days. Will it prove too tempting for Livingston's Italian owners?
