McKnight Signing Confirmed

Last updated : 23 June 2003 By Stuart Gillespie
The news comes from the Official Site. There had been rumours for a few days that McKnight was on his way back to Love Street, and it seems these were true. The story on the official site claims McKnight played in 34 games last season, which is untrue. He actually appeared in 28 games, ten times as a substitute. He scored 4 goals, but supposedly created loads. However, we need a goalscorer desperately, so this is maybe not that good a signing.

McKnight was often injured during his 2 and a bit years with Saints, and even managed a few with linfield last season. However, it appears there is a clause in his contract relating to injuries, which is good.

Apart from his injuries, most fans will remember him for his goals against Falkirk and Ayr United in our title season, and for that I look forward to getting his autograph at the open day :-)

RUmours suggest that McKnight will not be the only former Saint returning over the next few days with, amazingly, Barry Lavety looking favourite to return!
