County Sack Bone

Bone's departure from Victoria Park has fuelled speculation that Smith will soon follow him out the exit door, and many County fans are hoping he will soon leave. However, the County board claim it is merely a cost cutting exercise. The truth will no doubt be exposed in the weeks to come.

Bone played for Saints during his long career, and I remember seeing a great individual run from him for a fantastic goal on a video once. He was assistant to Smith when Saints won the cup in 1987, and replaced the idiot that was Davie Hay after Saints were relegated from the premier league in the early 1990s. After a promising first season or so, things went wrong and he eventually resigned after Saints sacked coach Kenny McDowell.

During his career, Bone played for Celtic and managed Stenhousemuir. One of the bad things about his reign at Love Street was that his nephew Alex Bone was never out of the team. Bone was rubbish, but as with all former players never stopped scoring against us after leaving.
