Carey comes back!

Last updated : 08 July 2011 By Stuart Gillespie

The Irishman had another year left on his contract at Parkhead but has managed to secure his release, although it's possible Saints paid a small fee to bring him back to Paisley.

Carey had a highly successful spell at the club on loan last year, scoring free goals - including two terrific free-kicks - and impressing everyone with his set-piece delivery. We now have that to look forward to, but it also means we have two proper wingers for the first time in years thanks to the signing of Gary Teale last week.

Carey - who spent six months at Huddersfield last season - has signed up for two years, although there are no doubt clauses that will see Celtic get more money if he stays, or we sell him, or there's a Y in the month...

Personally, I feel this is the signing of the summer so far for us - and when you consider we've already signed Steven Thompson and Teale, that's pretty impressive!
