The Palmerston outfit are in dire financial straits and manager Kenny Brannigan has advised his players to sign elsewhere if they can. According to him, Saints are interested in Burns, as are Motherwell - who seem to like nicking our signing targets.
The 26-year-old has made over 200 appearances for Queens and is set to enter his testimonial year. However, the lure of SPL football - and bigger wages - could prove too much for him.
While Burns hasn't played in the SPL, he did score when Queens made the Scottish Cup semi-finals in 2008 and would be a good acquisition for a top flight club.
