He may already have added eight players since being appointed Saints boss, but Danny Lennon is working on bringing at least one more player to the club and is hopeful of announcing a deal soon.

Speaking after last night's friendly draw with Dumbarton, Lennon said: "I do have one on the backburner at the moment but we'll need to wait a day or two to see if it comes to fruition. But there is a target there."

Who is the mystery target? Chances are it's not one of the trialists - Sean Lynch or Stephen Glass - as they would be pretty easy to deal with. There were rumours last week suggesting we are looking at getting Paul McGowan on loan from Celtic and he would be a decent acquisition if the stories turned out to be true.

Whoever it is, let's hope it's a midfielder or a striker.
