A Dom good signing?

The 22-year-old joined the MLS club at the start of last season after a successful period in college football. The Englishman - who started off his career at Norwich - only played a few games and it looks as if Kansas City want to get him out on loan to get some more experience ahead of the new season, which starts in the New Year.

Saints boss Danny Lennon said: "I became aware of Dom through an agent. Kansas City's season is over and there are one or two of the MLS players trying to get over. It has been on the back burner for a month to six weeks but Dom is over now.

"It would only be a short term one for us so we will have to wait and see but the reports we have had on him are positive."

The last player we got from the MLS was Andy Dorman, which turned out to be a good move, but if Dwyer was to join Saints it would only be for a few months as the American season gets underway again in March.

With funds limited, Lennon clearly sees the loan market as the ideal way to strengthen his squad in January, having been linked with moves for Celtic's marcus Fraser and Newcastle's Conor Newton in recent weeks.
