Name: Mark Howard

Current Club: Sheffield United

Position: Goalkeeper

Saints Career: Mark came to the club in 2007, having been released by Cardiff. He spent the majority of his first season as cover for Chris Smith, but an injury to Smudger saw him get his chance and he played well against Dundee United in a cup game. His initial form was good, but a few mistakes saw Smith return before he got back in towards the end of the season. He played in goals for much of the 2008/09 season, aside from a small spell when he was out of form, but played just the final two games of the following campaign. A good keeper on his day, but also prone to some silly mistakes.

Post Saints Career: Mark was allowed to sign for Aberdeen in the summer of 2010 and made a number of appearances in the first few months of the season. However, after we beat the Dons at the end of October he barely featured again and was released at the end of the season. He then landed a short term deal with Championship side Blackpool and made three appearances before being released. A short trial spell at Sheffield United won him a two year contract.
