Ex Saints: Jure Travner

Last updated : 21 August 2011 By Stuart Gillespie

Name: Jure Travner

Current Club: Ludogorets Razgrad

Position: Defender

Saints Career: Jure arrived on loan from Watford in 2010 - a move that became permanent in the January transfer window. After a slow start he became a fans favourite and a bit of a cult hero with his bombing runs down the left and his excellent crossing. His defending was suspect but he loved getting forward, scoring a last minute winner against Aberdeen. His delivery from free-kicks and corners was outstanding, but his tackling wasn't quite so good and saw him sent off in a crucial game against Hamilton. Loved for his attacking play, suspect in defence but solved the long standing leftback problem.

Post Saints Career: Jure was offered a new contract in 2011 but the Slovenian turned it down in a bid to find a move elsewhere. He eventually did that, joining Bulgarian side Ludogorets Razgrad.
