Danny had a long playing career before moving into management in 2008. The highlight would come during his time at Raith Rovers when he was involved in their League Cup run - although injury ruled him out of the final. He made up for that by scoring against Bayern Munich the following season, famously giving the Fife club a half-time lead in Germany. Many years later he became Cowdenbeath manager in 2008 and took them to the promotion play-off finals. They lost, but got promoted after Livingston were demoted on the eve of the season. Incredibly, they made the play-offs again and this time won them, making it into the first division for the first time in over 15 years. Danny wasn't around for the journey as Saints took him to replace Gus MacPherson. He brought many players with him, Darren McGregor being the star, and set about building a squad. he struggled to find his feet that year, mistakes were undoubtedly made and he said some odd things in the press. However, come the end of the season he'd kept us up - which was the minimum requirement in the circumstances. Assembled a good squad over the summer of 2011 and decided to go with a new passing philosphy. It was certainly more attractive although can be taking to extremes at times and didn't yield nearly as many points as it should have. Still, it got him a new contract midway through the season as he led us to eighth - our highest finish in 23 years. The first half of the 2012/13 season didn't start particularly well, six straight defeats being the low point, but Lennon did guide the club to a first ever League Cup triumph. However, the end of the campaign saw us involved in another relegation battle - although only on the fringes - and it looks as if we have another difficult campaign in store.
