John has forced his way into the first team this season, making his debut as a sub against Celtic and getting his first start against Dundee. The youth system graduate hasn't looked back since and has put in a string of impressive performances that has seen him handed an extended contract and play in the League Cup Final victory. His ball control and dribbling is brilliant, as his passing and vision, and he has a bright future in the game - hopefully with Saints for a good few years yet. Incredibly it took him until the final game of the season to get his first goal, but it wasn't for want of trying. John is the brother of former Saints Paul - who has gone to Dumbarton and Stephen, who now plays for Sheffield United.
