Saints 3-0 Spartans

Valentine's Day at Love Street, could there be anything more romantic? Erm, probably! What about adding in a bunch of Spartans fans dressed as Mexicans then? Maybe not...

Anyway, Saints fully deserved their win tonight, even if they did make things a little bit difficult for themselves at the start of the second half. John Sutton broke Saints long run without a goal when he got onto the end of Mark Corcoran's cross after just eleven minutes. It was the striker's first goal since early December!

Charlie Adam doubled the advantage fifteen minutes when he drilled a deflected Corcoran cross past the Spartans goalkeeper. Sutton could have added a third just before half time, but was judged to be offside thanks to a late flag.

Spartans impressed at the start of the second half and could have had a goal after some pressure, but the Saints support could relax a little midway through the half thanks to Ian Maxwell, who somehow forced the ball home for his first Saints goal.

Back to winning and scoring ways then, let's hope we cna keep it going against Stranraer on Saturday.
