Saints 1-2 Falkirk

Sod all happened in the first half. Falkirk scored from a dodgy free kick, when Jamie McQuilken crossed and former Saint Stuart Taylor headed home. It was shocking defending, and even worse goalkeeping from Kris Robertson.

Saints best chance of the first half came from Ricky Gillies' whose shot clipped the top of the bar.

The second half started even worse, with Falkirk doubling their lead thanks to more shoddy defending. David Lowing kindly tapped the ball across the face of goal for Lee Miller to hammer into the net.

After an hour Brian McGinty scored! He hadn't scored since Queen of the SOuth in the diddy cup in August, and after Mark Roberts dummied over the past, hit a superb shot past Allan Ferguson. Ferguson was Airdrie's goalie last year when McGinty put three past him in two games, so he must be rank.

With under 20 minutes left we were treated to Collin Samuel at work. Was it a shot? Was it a pass? Was it a cross? Was it a cross field pass? Whatever the was it was sh*te as the ball flew into the Caley stand.

Saints dominated the rest of the game, coming close on a few occasions, the best chance being when Jamie McGowan's header was well saved by Ferguson. The only other incident of note, apart from the terrible performance by the officials, was when Saints' Ally Mitchell was subbed he was furiours, and kicked a ball off the back of the dugout.

So the season is over at Love Street with Saints losing once again. A terrible first half performance was followed by a decent half hour in the second half. We didn't deserve a point, as Falkirk had the better of the first hour. Unfortunately, it hasn't been seen enough this season. We haven't had a full game at full effort for a long time, hopefully we'll see that next season.
