Saints 1-1 Hibs

We really have no one to blame but ourselves for last night. We destroyed Hibs for most of the game, but another defensive mistake and the lack of a cutting edge let us down once more.

For the first half, we pummelled Hibs, with plenty of pressure and possession, but we only had one decent shot. Fortunately, it was a good one as Stephen McGinn picked out Dorman, who unleashed an unstoppable effort into the roof of the net.

We looked quite in control, but in first half stoppage time Mo Camara and Scott Cuthbert both failed to mark Fletcher and he ran in to slot the ball past Mark Howard.

Our domination continued in the second half, with Dorman missing a great chance before Hugh Murray had a shot ruled out for offside. We were nearly gifted the lead when Denes Rosa messed up a clearance, but Hibs keeper, who was struggling with injury all night, did well to stop it. At the other end, Howard did brilliantly to deny Bamba twice in is many minutes. There was more Saints pressure after that, but we couldn't make it count.

It was a great performance, but it should have resulted in a win. With Hibs' keeper injured and Rob Jones and Bamba looking awful all night, the Hibees were there for the taking. Sadly, despite the results going our way on Saturday, we couldn't put some distance between ourselves and the drop.

Rather worryingly, Billy Mehmet went off injured and had to be replaced by a completely uninterested Jim Hamilton. Things could be even worse up front against Motherwell on Saturday!
