Saints retained the Renfrewshire Cup with a narrow win over local rivals Morton at Love Street this afternoon. Mark Corcoran's first half strike was enough to separate the two sides.

The match was likely to be the last ever Renfrewshire derby played at Love Street, so from that point of view winning was quite worthwhile.

There was no Craig Dargo in the Saints team, or any sign of the Argentine trialist who is rumoured to be signing soon. Howevers, Israeli Roy Dayan - who is also set to sign next week - did start and Saints lined up Smith, van Zanten, Reid, Potter, Haining, Brady, Mason, Murray, Mehmet, Dayan, Corcoran.

I know no other details about the match, however it does mean of all our pre-season friendlies we've won all but one, which we drew. Things never turn out well when we've had a good summer!
