Saints 0-2 Hamilton Academical

Saints were, quite frankly, awful. There were few clear cut chances created, whilst Stewart Kean somehow missed a golden opportunity for the equaliser when Saints were 1-0 down. Hamilton deserved the win, despite hardly threatening, whilst Saints deserved nothing.

The first half was a non event, so let's move onto the second! Hamilton took the lead eight minutes in, a Juanjo short corner finding Mark Gilhaney, whose cross was headed home by David Elebert.

Saints proceeded to attack but had no real chances, with the likes of Charlie Adam and John Sutton firing shots high and/or wide.

Hamilton wasted time with just under fifteen minutes left when they decided to sub Juanjo. It took nearly a minute for the Spaniard to go off, with Billy Reid claiming it was because the winger doesn't understand English. That's the winger who has septn about two years with both hearts and Bradford, and the last eighteen months with Hamilton and Caley...

With just under ten minutes left, John Sutton and Hamilton keeper David McEwan went for a high ball, missed, and Kean fired the loose ball wide of the gaping goal. Six months ago he'd have buried it, but such is his lack of confidence that he missed an easy chance.

Saints were made to pay in the final minute, Scott Agnew crossing for Rudy Torres, whose header was tipped onto the bar by Tony Bullock only for Brian Wake to head home the rebound. Game over.

A very bad day at the office, made worse by Simon Lappin going off with an ankle injury. This result will hopefully give a few folk a kick up the arse and remind them that we're not champions yet.

On to Dingwall then, where a win and a St. Johnstone defeat would give us the title. If we play like we do today, there's not much chance of us even getting a point!
