Saints 0-2 Greenock Morton

Well that's the attitude of some Saints fans after today's defeat. May I remind them all that this was effectively a friendly and has absolutely no bearing on how well we do in the league? Admittedly the performance was apparently poor and we desperately need a couple of new strikers, but it's nothing to get worked up about.

Morton scored a goal in each half, the first coming after Simon Lappin gave the ball away, Andy McLaren duffed a cross off the bar and a Morton player headed home. The second came in the last minute from a Derek Lilley penalty. I wasn't there as I don't like paying for friendlies so that's as detailed a report as you'll get.

On the plus side we didn't get anyone sent off or injured. Let's just hope we have a few new strikers in before the season starts.
