Saints 0-1 Falkirk

Today's result all but finishes the league. We're half way gone and Falkirk are almost out of site, it will take either a Morton type scandal or a Man United type run to stop them winning the league.

Saints didn't deserve to win this game, but could have sneaked a draw. The only goal came nine minutes into the second half, when Falkirk's Pedro Moutinho went for a wander through the Saints defence before firing straight at Craig Hinchcliffe. amazingly, Hinchy let the ball slip straight through his legs and in to gift three points, and the league, to Falkirk. Totally unlike him, hopefully he'll recover from it.

Very little else happened. Stewart Kean came on for his Saints debut and looked impressive. He has pace (good) and looks like he'll be able to score goals (very good). Saints best moments of the game came when he got the ball; the first was when he rounded the keeper before getting into too tight an angle, the second when he hit a difficult effort just wide. Hopefully he'll score soon.

The only other things of note came on the injury front. Falkirk player manager John Hughes went off at half time with a dislocation, whilst Saints captain Kevin McGowne went off just before Falkirk scored. Moutinho managed to wander through the defence without Captain Chaos being on? Good god!

So our unbeaten league run is over. Four home defeats under Gus is superb, just a shame we couldn't make it a year in the league. Hopefully we can show some good bouncebackability and beat the Fake Saints next Saturday for an early Christmas present.
