Saints 0-1 Fake Saints

One goal in the second half was enough for the visitor's to take their first win at Love Street for a few years. A free kick from Matt Glennon was headed on by Kevin "Goal Machine" James and Steven Milne slipped it under sub keeper Chris Smith. Like any Buddie really cared!

This game was just something that had to be done before the important stuff. The fact several players were left out due to being near the suspension threshold shows just how much St. Mirren cared. St. Johnstone, however, were going in with hefty challenges and picked up several bookings.

The highlight of the cautions came at the second half when the Freak that is Kevin James became the first player in football history to pick up a booking for hypocracy. Stewart Kean apparently caught him in an aerial challenge, which went unpunished, amusing considering James does his impression of on octapus whenever trying to head and grabs the guy in front of him to stop him getting the ball!

After the boring bit was dealt with came party time, with Kevin McGowne picking up the First Division trophy in front over over 6,000 Buddies. It was a beautfiul day, weather and achievement wise, as Saints picked up the third cup of their treble winning season.

A lap of honour then followed before the team made their way onto the open top bus and arrived at the Town Hall to the delight of thousands of Buddies, who cheered at the top of their voices. Sadly the team weren't able to get onto the balcony, can't have everything eh?
