Inverness Caley Thistle 0-0 Saints

There's two ways to look at this result. You're either of the opinion that we've missed a good chance to win, have just one SPL victory in the last two months, blew a chance to go to seventh and we've failed to score in our last two fixtures. Or you can see it as a handy point at a difficult venue against a team on good form that edges us away from the relegation dogfight after Dunfermline and Hibs both lost. Up to you.

Steven Thomson always seems to do well against Caley Thistle and he was chosen as the replacement for the injured Kenny McLean. He, along with near namesake Steven Thompson, spurned headed chances in the first half, with Paul McGowan and Graham Carey also bringing saves from Ryan Esson. Just before the break Caley Thistle had their first real chance as Kenny Gillet shot wide.

The hosts unsurprisingly came out all guns blazing after the break, Gregory Tade missing a couple of sitters before McGowan again shot at Esson when he should have scored. Instead, it was Caley Thistle who went closest to winning the game late on - new signing Claude Knapka hitting the post and Nick Ross bringing a fine save from Craig Samson in stoppage time.

Another game where we have created plenty of chances and not taken any. Will that problem be rectified ahead of the transfer window closing next week?
