Hibs 2-1 Saints

We may have managed to progress in the League Cup during the week, but our league form is horrendous. No wins since the last weekend in September and only two goals since then. It's a run that sees us second bottom and with Dundee picking up three points today relegation is a real possibility.

Danny Lennon made just one change to the side that saw off Aberdeen during the week, Gary Teale dropping out and Thomas Reilly coming in for his first start. Hibs' dangerman Leigh Griffiths hit the post early doors but with just over half an hour played Kenny McLean added yet another stunning strike to his collection to give Saints the lead. The scouts apparently in the stands at Easter Road would have been impressed.

The lead lasted barely five minutes as that man Griffiths scored from close range. We hadn't learned our lesson and he scored his and Hibs' second midway through the second half, any hope of a Saints comeback extinguished two minutes later when Jim Goodwin was sent off (unsurprisingly he was already on a yellow card).

Hibs may well be on a good run of form but the league season so far is quite simply unacceptable.
