Hearts 2-1 Saints

Last updated : 29 January 2014 By Stuart Gillespie

It all started so well. Steven Thompson headed us in front instead the first minute and looked to have set us up for a comfortable afternoon, but within five minutes Callum Paterson brought Hearts level after our defence switched off. After that Hearts were the better side and Marian Kello had to make a decent save, although Marc McAusland hit the post at the other end.

Unfortunately, things went down hill for Saints and Cheesy after the break. He was sent off for a last man challenge and Jamie Hamill rattled in the penalty to set the Jambos on their way to their first home win since August!

It took us a while to offer any response, Thompson twice missing from crosses from sub Gregg Wylde. In between, Dale Carrick hit the post as Hearts looked to increase their lead, but they got away with just one goal.

Four points was the minimum we needed to take from our last two games. That we've managed one is unacceptable. And to make things worse, it seems we're about to sign Nacho Novo.
