Hearts 2-0 Saints

The stats don't lie. We have scored just four goals this season and have failed to score any in our last three and a half games. It is perhaps time for Danny Lennon to abandon a few of his footballing beliefs and make a few changes to the side. As he picked the same team that didn't score against St Johnstone, it's no surprise we didn't score again today.

We had a few chances in the first half through Steven Thompson and Ilias Haddad, but Hearts had more and better opportunities. Just before the break Haddad fouled Marius Zaliukas inside the box and Jamie Hamill scored from the spot.

There was a bit of a response in the second half, Kenny McLean having a couple of chances, but Hearts sealed things with 20 minutes left when Lee Mair diverted Danny Grainger's cross into his own net.

We may be playing pretty football, but it's not effective. I'm not calling for us reverting to the dross we had last season, but it is surely time for some changes in the style of play and the team that starts games. Otherwise, our decent start will soon be a distant memory.
