Hamilton Academical 3-1 Saints

I wasn't there so can't comment on how well or badly we played but it seems that, once again, Andy Millen was awful. He gave away the penalty that Hamilton got their second from and was subbed at half time. When will Gus MacPherson realise that he is not the answer in midfield? In fact, why don't we go without a defensive midfielder until Reilly is fit?

Hamilton took the lead after just six minutes when some poor defending allowed Brown Ferguson to score. The lead was doubled just before half time, Millen making a shocking challenge inside the box and Brian Carrigan scored from the spot. Carrigan scored just after the break as well, his corner being carried over the line by Saints keeper Chris Smith. There was some joy for Saints when Stewart Kean scored, but there was no comeback and Saints suffered their first league defeat since the opening day of the season.

We were poor, tiredness or not, we were just awful. Charlie Adam was missing through injury, whilst Kirk Broadfoot could be out for a while after picking up an injury on the plastic turf.

Let's just hope the break over he next two weeks does us good and we can get top spot back when we play Ross County at Love Street in a fortnight.
