Falkirk 2-0 Saints

There have been some fairly poor days supporting Saints this season, but today surely must go down as the worst. No fight, dodgy tactics and selection and in the end no points. Thank goodness Dunfermline are still rubbish.

I can't be bothered going into great detail about the match - all I'll say on that subject is that Falkirk were 2-0 up at half time and were rarely troubled.

The Saints fans would have been as well going home before the match with the news Andy Millen was in the team. Why? Why put him in with Broadfoot suspended? Why not go with a back four as we've been doing for the past few games?

The tactic seemed to be either messing around at the back (great when two down) or absolutely hammering it forward. There was no thought, no sensible play, no battle. There was no linkup play.

It was glaringly obvious at half time things needed to be changed, but they weren't. There were no subs for at least five minutes until the useless Paul Lawson was removed, along with Eddie Malone. It made no difference. It took nearly ten minutes for one of the subs - Mark Corcoran - to have the ball passed to him.

The referee was useless, but that's no excuse. We were woeful. The players didn't fight and compete, and Gus MacPherson's selection and tactics were useless.

The gap is still six points to Dunfermline. On Wednesday we play Hibs, then next Sunday we play Rangers. odds on conceding ten goals between the two games?
