Darren McGregor and Gary Teale were the only genuine first team squad members on display, with trialist Grant Adam getting a run out in goal. Of the rest of the team only striker Thomas Reilly has had any real involvement at first team level, with Mark Lamont having been on loan at Dumbarton last season.
With such a youthful side out it was no surprise that the Buddies didn't win, but managing a draw with a relatively strong Dumbarton side was a decent effort.
The first team are expected to be back in action on Friday night when they cross the border to face Carlisle United.
