Aberdeen 0-1 Saints

That in itself would almost have been enough, but the fact Hamilton lost at St Johnstone - and a big thank you to Derek McInnes for that one - means we are officially safe and can relax when we face the Saintees on Saturday.

From the sounds of the commentary, it was a dire, dire game. Gareth Wardlaw was a surprise starter and was about to come off with 25 minutes left. He was left on for a corner - and thank god he was because when Darren McGregor flicked it on, the big postie forced it home thanks to some dodgy keeping from Jamie Langfield. Then he came off!

You know the script by now and sure enough we sat deeper and deeper, with Chris Maguire going close on a few occasions. Thankfully, he didn't get any closer and despite the dreaded four minutes of stoppage time being signalled, we clung on to finally end the Pittodrie jinx and secure our SPL survival.

It shouldn't have been this close and there are big, big questions that need to be answered in terms of the management and squad, but for now let's just enjoy the fact we're set for a sixth straight season.

We're staying up!
