After a fortnight off, we're back in action against Falkirk this weekend. The referee is Crawford Allan, and to say things didn't go well when we had him last season would be an understatement.

He did two of our games - one at Parkhead and one at Rugby Park. Celtic gubbed us 7-0, we had a man sent off and conceded a penalty. Kilmarnock beat us 2-1 and we had a goal disallowed in the last minute as we edged towards the SPL trap door, although we gave it a good kick to make sure it was shut a few days later.

Things were slightly better in 2007/08. We beat Killie, with a last minute goal, and drew with Aberdeen. The latter game saw David Barron correctly sent off. We also lost 1-0 to Caley Thistle with Mr Allan in charge, Will Haining perhaps harshly sent off. The only other game with this official that shows up in Soccerbase is a 1-1 draw with St. Johnstone back in 2003.

There are only five Falkirk games involving Mr Allan to discuss, none of which are notable. Last season there was a defeat at Pittodrie and an away draw with Motherwell. The season before there was a draw with Aberdeen and an amusing defeat to Gretna, while 2006/07 saw a draw with Caley Thistle. And that's it.

So, with this official in charge, Saints and Falkirk have managed one win between them. Get your money on a draw then!
