Know the Ref - Dundee United away

The match in question was back in September, when we beat Hearts 2-1 for our first ever league win at St. Mirren Park. This was actually a blip in his record with Saints, however. The other seven games he'd taken charge of saw seven defeats and just two goals for us. Worryingly, one of those defeats was a 2-0 reverse at Tannadice last season when we conceded two late goals. Mr Winter's other United games last season saw a win over Caley Thistle and a defeat to Hearts. The previous season saw three United games for him, including a 2-1 defeat to Kilmarnock in which Christian Kalvenes was sent off. The others were a comfy win over Gretna and an away defeat to Aberdeen.

Sadly, if you go back to 2006/07 you find another defeat for us at Tannadice, this time a 1-0 loss. You also see a fine United draw at Parkhead. Mr Winter's other games with United come in 2005/06 and there's a win and a defeat with Hibs and a defeat to Livingston.

The Arabs' record, then, is hardly impressive, but it is better than ours! Mr Winter has yet to send anyone off this season - let's hope if he does show a red card on Saturday it's to a home player.
