It was a difficult night for Saints youngster Craig Slater last night. Although he had the joy of representing Scotland in the Victory Shield, he had the agony of being on the losing side against England at Tynecastle.

The Victory Shield is played for by the under-16 sides of the four Home Nations. Craig had already represented Scotland in the tournament and things were looking good when the Scots went in front at Edinburgh before losing to the Auld Enemy, who also took the trophy.

Team mate Thomas Reilly was on the bench but didn't earn a cap.
