Saints suffered a defeat in their final reserve game of the year this afternoon when they lost to Rangers at Murray Park. On the plus side Gary Mason, Billy Mehmet and Tonet all played after recovering from injuries.
Tom Brighton also started the match in his first proper action after overcoming his injury woes, having come on in the final minute of Saturday's win over Falkirk. Strangely, there was no place for Stephen O'Donnell who is supposed to be ready for some reserve games. Steven Robb, Craig Dargo and Will Haining also missed out through injury. The Gers took the lead after ten minutes through youngster Rory Loy but Brighton levelled things up ten minutes before half time. However, the sides weren't level for long, Stevie Naismith putting Rangers back in front in stoppage time.
Andrius Velicka completed the scoring with 15 minutes left.
