Saints v Ross County Preview

Today is also Show Racism The Red Card day, which will see tannoy messages, posters and the like to advertise the fact that racism will not be tolerated in Scottish football. This is an extremely worthwhile campaign and Mirren Mad full supports attempts to rid football of racism.

On the footballing side of things, Saints have just one injury Allan Russell is out with a strain of some sort, but apart from that everyone, including Mark Dempsie, should be fit. Will we see the same lineup that lost to Queen of the South, or will we see some changes? Many folk think John Baird should start after scoring against them, whilst there are also calls to see Ricky Gillies back in the team. Personally the only change I'd make would be Laurie Ellis replacing Simon Lappin, as Simon has been poor recently and played for the Scotland under 21 side in midweek.

County come to Love Street looking forward to the league challenge cup final in a few weeks time. They've never won at Love Street, managing a few draws, so knowing our luck today will see them getting their first ever win. There is some good news for Saints as their top player Alex Burke may miss out with injury. Former Saint Steven McGarry hasn't scored yet this season, let's hope he doesn't start scoring today. Considering his first Saints goal came against us it is highly possible. Ex Saint Stuart Taylor is also at County but has been injured for a few weeks.

Saints aren't going to be challenging for the title this season, but it would be nice to keep up with the leaders for another week or so. Sadly I think County will win 2-0.
