Saints v Motherwell Preview

Well, technically thats not true. I'm not bothered if Ross County put us out of the diddy cup on Saturday, and I'm not really bothered about the other cups this season. All that matters is staying in the division, and based on the squad we have that will be tough. There have been just three signings, including a youngster from Clyde, and not a single trialist in sight.

It's possible that all three of those signings could be missing tonight. John Baird is apparently injured, whilst Mark Reilly and Mixu Paatelainen picked up knocks in Saturday's defeat to Morton. Mark Dempsie might also be missing, whilst previously injured players such as Hugh Murray could sit it out as well. With Brian McGinty facing a suspension, he may be rested, which could give us a forward paring of Allan Russell and Eddie Annand. God save us. I'm fearing for my safety, considering Annand's finishing on Saturday and the fact I sit behind a goal.

I've been a bit disappointed that none of the younger players have had much of a chance in the proper friendlies. Ryan McCay played a bit in one, but apart from that it seems none have had a chance. Unfortunately, that trend looks likely to continue, as the under 19s played Arthurlie last night.

I don't like Motherwell. We only managed to take one point off them in our SPL season, but I couldn't care about that. They went into administration in 2002 and scaked several players. As a result, Andy "I've been sacked you know" Dow and Kevin "Toothache" Twaddle have ended up at Love Street, and done precisely bugger all. Fortunately, neither of them are still with us.

Motherwell have former Saint Gordon Marshall (a whopping one game on loan) and cheery chappy Alex Burns in their side, whilst we have Mark Reilly and Stevie Woods in the ex player stakes. I hope to god Woods isn't playing tonight, as apparently a few Well fans are relisihing the chance to get torn into him.

It doesn't matter tonight lads, just avoid injuries and suspensions for god sake.
