Saints v Heart of Midlothian Preview

Hearts last managed a win on October 1, we last managed a win the day before. Since then we've played seven times and Hearts have played eight - which nearly matches the number of managers they've had since then. However, Valdas Ivanauskas is back in charge now, which apparently signals some stability, in relative terms.

Saints manager Gus MacPherson hasn't made many changes to the side in recent weeks, but may be forced into making a few tomorrow after a virus affected several first team players, with John Potter and Billy Mehmet most likely to miss out. There will definitely be one change to the starting lineup as Richard Brittain is out with an eye injury. Garry Brady or Craig Molloy will probably take his place.

On the plus side, John Sutton seems fit and will hopefully be able to return to goalscoring form. Stewart Kean could take his place alongside him if Mehmet misses out; the former Ayr man having scored the winner at Tynecastle in early September.

Whilst MacPherson has stuck by the same players for most of the season, the same certainly cannot be said of Hearts. They seem to make several changes to the starting eleven for each match, usually basing the selection process on who chairman Vladimir Romanov likes/hates on a particular day. Hence Julien Brellier hardly gets game, whilst useless Lithuanians usually do. Still, Romanov is always good for a laugh - having ranted about the Cold War, the Russian revolution and monkeys on the Hearts website in recent months.
