Saints v Hamilton Academical Preview

Last updated : 07 January 2005 By Stuart Gillespie
We owe Hamilton some pay back after a fortnight ago. We probably should have taken a point, but their keeper David McEwan was in inspired form, making some fabulous saves, whilst Saints David van Zanten helpfully plopped the ball past Craig Hinchcliffe for the only goal.

We owe Hamilton some payback for five years ago, when Saints were gubbing them at Love Street but only Junior Mendes had managed to score and Hamilton scored a last minute equaliser. In the replay the same happened, except Saints never managed to score and Hamilton did to get the cash from a money spinning match against Rangers.

We owe Hamilton for the years of Jose Quitongo ripping the mick out of us before coming to Saints and ripping the mick with his inept performances. Paul Hartley and others are also ex Accies players I despise.

Saints shouldn't have any injury worries ahead of tomorrow. There was a virus running through the players earlier in the week, but it seems to have cleared up and all the players are fit. This could lead to some major changes to the lineup after our trouble scoring in recent weeks, so it will be interesting to see who starts.

Our Scottish Cup record since winning it in 1987 is down right disgraceful. Four wins, never getting into the quarter finals. It needs improvement. Let's hope we can beat Hamilton and make it one step closer to the quarter finals.
