Saints v Forfar Athletic Preview

Last updated : 10 August 2004 By Stuart Gillespie
Saints have no one missing because of suspension, as Brian McGinty's ban was only for one game. There shouldn't be any injury problems, the only doubts could be over Hugh Murray and Simon, who were subbed last week, whilst Mark Dempsie was absent for a mysterious reason.

Up front Mixu wil probably start, and with the ground as wet as it is be prepared for lots of long balls aimed in his direction. McGinty may go straight into the starting lineup, although after his goal on Saturday Allan Russell might start. Eddie Annand and John Baird are other alternatives, whilst Laurie Ellis might start instead of Lappin after a fine performance on Saturday.

Forfar are without former Raith player Jay Stein, but experienced striker Paul Tosh will play. Former Saint David Lowing should play as well, facing Saints for the first time since his departure last summer.

It would be nice to progress to the next round of the cup and get some money from a game against an SPL side. The last time we played Forfar we were thrashed 5-1 (although we did win the Scottish Cup that season). let's hope we don't get the same scoreline tonight.
