Saints v East Fife Preview

Had we played them last season, I'd have bet my house (if I had one) on them beating us. Why? Because they had Paul Ritchie, who always scores against us. Fortunately, he's now left and they only have two players who have worn the stripes. Paul Walker played about five minutes for the first team before scoring a shedload of goals, while Graham Guy was reasonable enough in 2003/03 before being released.

While we beat Stenhousemuir 3-1 with a few fringe players at this stage in the competition last season, we should never forget 2004 when Forfar gubbed us 5-2 in Paisley. They had David Lowing that day and Guy - who played in the same youth and reserve teams as him - will be looking for similar revenge.

While the Fifers are three points clear in the third division (east Stirling are second!), Saints will probably still go with a few fringe players tomorrow. Don't be surprised to see Mark Howard make his Saints debut, while the likes of Stephen McGinn and David Barron could be handed rare starts. Up front it's anyone's guess!
