Saints v Airdrie United Preview

A frozen pitch a few Saturday's ago saw the game called off at half ten in the morning, allowing Ross County to close to within three points of us. Now we get the chance to get our lead back against a side who were unlucky to lose to Clyde at the weekend.

I'm sure I'm not alone in feeling this, and I'm sure it's not the first time I've said it on here, but I don't really like Airdrie United. I hate the way they put Clydebank out of senior football and stole their place in the second division, and I hate the way their fans claim they don't have bigots and racists despite the fact sections of their support performing Nazi salutes. Elvis songs my bottom!

Now I've got that out of the way, on to their actual team. I thought Airdrie would struggle this season after the departure of three strikers and the arrival of just one. However, they've also added Bryan Prunty to their side and have done quite well, sitting a good few points above the relegation zone. Prunty was on trial at Love Street a few months ago, as was recent Airdrie signing Graeme Holmes, and we all know what happens when former trialists play against us.

Saints are still without a sub goalkeeper, with Craig Hinchcliffe out for the season and Danny McColgan out with injury. Andy Millen may drop out and be replaced with Mark Reilly as the 40 year old isn't quite as fit as he used to be and can't quite cope with two games a week. The rest of the team should remain unchanged.

We're on a good run and a win would set us up nicely for Saturday's trip to Ross County. As a result, I think we'll lose! 1-0 to United.
