Saints v Aberdeen Preview

The return to the SPL meant live matches, so tomorrow's game kicks off at 12.30pm for Setanta. It's the first live match for over five years, and we won the last one 2-1 against Dundee United.

Saints will be looking for a bit of bouncebackability tomorrow, having suffered their first SPL defeat of the season last weekend. Before that, we'd gone seven top flight matches unbeaten, although most of those were played in 2001. Until recently, Aberdeen had been the last team we'd beaten in the SPL, and it would be nice to get one over on them again tomorrow.

Sadly, we no longer have Aberdeen reject Ricky Gillies to score against them, so we'll just need to make do with John Sutton and Stewart Kean for the time being. They're the only players to score for Saints so far this season, although Kean's name may not belong on that list depending who scored the first goal against Inverness Caley Thistle.

Both of them should start tomorrow, and it's likely to be the same side that faced Celtic last week, although Kevin McGowne could replace Andy Millen if he has recovered from injury. John Potter will be hoping there is no adverse reaction from the Saints support after some silly comments in the press today, whilst Craig Molloy will be hoping to keep his place in midfield after enjoying a good start to the season.

Aberdeen are in the middle of an injury crisis at the moment, with several defenders struggling with injury. This is not good for Saints, as we're often only too happy to help out when teams are struggling. They also signed a new striker today, so we'll probably help him get off the mark.
