Ross County v Saints Preview

Playing a team who have just lost a manager or got a new one is never good. Playing a team that hasn't won for a while is never good. Therefore, playing a team that has both just lost it's manager and failed to win for a while is very, very bad.

As if that wasn't bad enough, Saints go into tomorrow's match on the back of a terrible performance at home to Hamilton last week that saw their lead at the top of the first division cut to eight points with four games left. There's also the fact that half of our midfield could be missing. Mark Corcoran is definitely out, whilst Hugh Murray, Simon Lappin and Charlie Adam are all major doubts. With few ideal replacements we could be reated to the site of Brian McGinty starting. Joy. Craig Hinchcliffe and Ian Maxwell are also out.

Add to this the fact that all our strikers bar John Sutton seem to be alergic to finding the back of the net and you'll see why I'm so worried. Stewart Kean hasn't scored from open play since our last visit to Dingwall in December, whilst Billy Mehmet has yet to break his Saints duck. It's not good.

Ross County's title chances were ended in midweek, barring the appointment of David Copperfield as their new manager. They are twelve points behind with four games left and need either a miracle or some cheating to win. They also lost Gardner Spiers in midweek, and many players could put in an extra bit of effort in an attempt to win themselves a new contract or impress any future boss.

So, it doesn't look good, which is why I think Ross County will win 1-0.
