Ross County v Saints Preview

Last updated : 02 December 2005 By Stuart Gillespie
County have won their last five games under caretaker manager Gardner Speirs, whilst Saints have won all but one of the games they played in November, only a draw on Tuesday night against Airdrie denting the perfect record. Therefore, it should be a good game. Our form in Dingwall has improved of late, and we even won their in March!

Former Saints player Gardner Speirs has got the best out of his squad since replacing John Robertson as caretaker boss. In particular, former Manchester United youngster John Rankin has done well and has scored in each of those victories. Chances are he'll be in top form again tomorrow, hopefully someone will give him a good kicking early on and injure him!

Saints have the usual injury worries, with goalkeepers Craig Hinchcliffe and Danny McColgan both out with different injuries. The only other absentee will be Ryan McCay, who still lacks match fitness. Mark Reilly is likely to be replaced in midfield by Andy Millen. After failing to score in the past two games, John Sutton and Stewart Kean will be desperate to get onto the scoresheet once again, whilst Charlie Adam will be looking to do well against the team that he was on loan at last season.

A win tomorrow would send Saints seven points clear at the top of the first division. However, County are on good form and we're due a defeat, so I reckon they'll win 1-0.
