Ross County v Saints Preview

If you want strikers who don't get into the box, call us. If you want an invisible defence, call us. If you want a goalie who concedes goals at his near post, continually makes mistakes and doesn't get dropped, call us. Can you tell I'm not very confident about tomorrow?

Ross County have already beaten us 2-0 this season, so maybe we can avoid that for the fourth time in the last five away games. We've won two games this year, one in the cup. That's relegation form. Since January each of the three teams below us has beaten us 2-0 on their patch. We can't buy a goal, yet alone a win.

Hopefully Gus MacPherson will change things around tomorrow. We need a striker, not a couple of liehgtweights who rarely get into the box and chicken out of things. Playing someone like David McKenna, Jeff Ferguson or Scott Gemmill can't do any harm. At worst we won't score, which is what Brian McGinty, Allan Russell and Robert Dunn have been excelling at. If they do score, we'll get confidence and might actually win. The youngsters will at least try in an effort to keep their place.

Kevin Twaddle, Eddie Annand and Laurie Ellis are all still missing, though Ellis did play in a bounce game yesterday. Hopefully, if we don't play the youungsters, Barry Lavety will at least be fit enough to do something. Kirk Broadfoot will hopefully be fit enough to replace the incompetent buffon that is Kevin McGowne, whilst it's about time Craig Hinchcliffe took his rightful place in goals and replaced Stevie Woods. MacPherson may also be fit enough for a first team squad return.

Tomorrow sees another chance for one of our former players to score against us. Stevie McGarry will probably be playing up front for County. He did it against us last season - that strike being his first for County. Typical!

We desperately need a win, with Brechin, Ayr and Raith all dropping points. Of course, that won't happen. Us winning means we need to score a goal, something we've only managed twice in the last five games. I predict a 4-0 win for Ross County.
