Queen of the South v Saints Preview

This week it's the league challenge cup, a week on Saturday it's in the league. To be honest I'm not too bothered about tonight and would trade a win tonight for three points in the league next weekend every time. However, a win would be nice.

Saints were boosted today with the arrival of new signings John Sutton and Charlie Adam. Both are in the squad tonight, but whether either of them will start or even make the bench. Kirk Broadfoot misses out as he is on under 21 duty, whilst Mark Reilly and Ryan McCay is still injured. So too is goalkeeper Craig Hinchcliffe, but Chris Smith has looked a more than able deputy and will be hoping to celebrate his new contract with a good performance tonight.

Queen of the South were expected to build on last season and challenge for the title but it hasn't quite worked out that way. They have just one point in the league so far and are already out of the league cup. It looks as if they won't have any new signings by the transfer deadline either and could struggle to turn things around, let's just hope they wait a few weeks before they get things sorted! Former Saint John O'Neill is fortunately still injured and should miss tonight's game.

A win tonight would be nice but I'm not that bothered. As long as we escape injuries and suspensions I'll be happy.
