Airdrie United v Saints Preview

I wrote Airdrie off in pre-season after they got rid of several strikers and replaced them with one not very good one. However, since then they've signed a few more players, including Bryan Prunty. Prunty did well when playing for Celtic's under 21 team, but failed at Aberdeen and Inverness Caledonian Thistle. He was on trial at Saints over the summer, but wasn't signed. Since signing for Airdrie he has scored twice, and will probably haunt us Paul Ritchie style tomorrow.

I've disliked Airdrie for a long time now. I didn't particuarly like them in the form of Airdrieonians, and I've hated them since they took over Clydebank three years ago. I laughed and laughed when a last minute Brechin goal a few years ago stopped them being promoted, although they gained some redemption a year later by helping Morton stay down. That said, I don't like them and would love to give them a good gubbing tomorrow.

Usual injury problems tomorrow, Craig Hinchcliffe, Mark Reilly and Ryan McCay aren't fit. Brian McGinty probably won't play either, which is annoying as he often does well against Airdrie despite being rubbish the rest of the time. Bit like Junior Mendes really!

A win could send us top tomorrow, however Airdrie didn't have a midweek game whilst we had ninety minutes plus extra time. Therefore, I predict a 1-0 win for United.
