It's the day when managers across the land are busy working their socks off in an attempt to improve their squads as the January transfer window comes to an end. Will there be any activity at Love Street? Welcome to the Rumour Mill.
Last night I'd probably have said we had finished our business, especially with a signing yesterday, but a few rumours have emerged that might change thing. They're probably just the usual Radio Clyde or internet mince, but I'll list them here just in case!IN
Simon Lappin: Simon has fallen out of favour at Norwich and could be set for a return to Love Street. However, we probably don't need him and he's supposedly attracting interest from Motherwell.
Bob Malcolm: Derby probably want shot of the former Rangers player, but he's a yob who is also not very good. Motherwell have been linked with him so hopefully he'll go there!
Mark Miller: Young Celtic midfielder no one's heard of. We don't need another midfielder - plus the last one we got from Celtic was a bit useless!
Jim O'Brien: Another Celtic midfielder, he did well with Dunfermline last season. Can play on the right wing and we desperately need someone for that position.
Richard Offiong: Saints have allegedly already had a bid rejected for the Hamilton striker, but there are suggestions that he could be coming in a cash plus player deal. Probably nonsense.
Kon Tsacos: Young keeper currently training with the club but no chance of him signing. We've heard that before!
OUT
Mark Howard: The former Arsenal keeper hasn't featured since signing in the summer and there are whispers he could be on his way to Hibs.
David van Zanten: Another rumour about Vanzy, with various English sides now apparently interested in him.
CONFIRMED
None - the Jim Hamilton rumour emerged after the last issue.
NOT HAPPENING
Kirk Broadfoot: A loan bid was indeed made to bring Kirk back, but it was turned down.
Stuart Duff: He signed for Aberdeen - and gifted Hearts a goal on his debut.
Richie Foran: The former Motherwell striker extended his loan spell with Darlington.
Ian Murray: Returned to Hibs after leaving Norwich.
John Rankin: Ended up at Easter Road as well after the price Caley Thistle wanted for him grew to a stupid amount.
That's all for the moment - I'll post an update (if there's anything to report) this evening. Fingers crossed we can get a centre half and a right winger in before then!
