Yards For The Chop

That's a lot for anyone, let alone someone who is meant to be a professional footballer. Yards hasn't been getting mainy first team matches for Rovers recently, which probably hasn't helped his weight problems. If they do release him, it is extremely unlikely he'd find another club due to weighing so much.

Yards has hit back at the claims, however, denying that he is over weight or has ever had a weight problem. I'm not exactly slim myself, but I reckon weighing 20 stone is almost good enough to get you on Celebrity Fat Camp rather than the Albion Rovers first team.

yards signed for Saints in the mid 1990s from Cowdenbeath, and scored on his debut. He was Saints top scorer during our title season, though his scoring rate slowed down a bit after that. His final Saints goal came in 2002, a wonder goal against Morton in extra time in the Scottish League cup.

He moved to Rovers in January 2003, almost winning them promotion. The highlight had to be a last minute winner against Morton, meaning he had scored in his last seven games against them!

All the best Yards, but I think it's time for you to chuck the football.
